Special Constable Assaulted

At Doncaster, on Saturday, Stephen Stanton, miner, Bolton-on-Dearne, was committed to prison for 14 days for assaulting Frederick Lockwood, farmer and special constable.

Prosecutor was bringing from a field three boys who been stealing turnips, when defendant demanded their release.

As the prosecutor refused to let the lads go, defendant struck him in the face and kicked him.
