Assault Bolton-On-Dearne.
Three brothers named respectively Simon, Martin and John Thomas Heavy, colliers, Bolton-on- Dearnc, were placed in the dock at the West Riding Court, Doncaster, yesterday, charged with an aggravated assault on Peter Murray, miner, Hemsworth, at Bolton-on-Dearne on Sunday night.
Prisoner Simon went to prosecutor and said, I’m going to settle things with thee,” and knocked him down, kicking him several times whilst on the ground.
The other prisoners prevented a man from going to the assistance of Murray, who was severely hurt, and became unconscious.
Prisoner Simon was committed to prison for two months, and the other prisoners were each fined 10s. and costs.
