Young Pianist

Mary P. Hurrell, the 11 years old daughter of Mr. W. H. Hurrell, organist at Goldthorpe Parish Church, and Mrs. Hurrell, of 97, Furlong Road, achieved a signal success at the Elsecar Musical Festival last week-end.

In the pianoforte class for children up to 17 years of age she won the silver cup with 91 marks out of a possible 100.

Dr. J.F. Staton, the adjudicator, spoke very highly of her performance, especially in view of her age.
