Evans & Cooke
The wedding took place at All Saints, Paddock, on October 28th, of Miss Lilian Cooke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Cooke, of Bolton-on-Dearne, and Mr. W. H. Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Evans, of Broughton, Wrexham.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. R. Farmer, M.A.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Edgar Cooke, wore a gown of white satin beaute with medieval head-dress of pearls and orange blossom, and carried a shower bouquet of pink carnations. There were seven bridesmaids, Miss Mildred, Muriel, Joan and Kathleen Dyson, Miss Alma Cooke (nieces of the bride), Miss Myfanwy Evans (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Dorothy Gulley. They were attired in blue velvet with gold sashes, and their shoes were blue to tone. They carried posies of golden chrysanthemums.
The best man was Mr. Stanley Evans, brother of the bridegroom, and Mr. Arthur Dyson was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Conservative Club, Paddock. Among the many presents were an oak timepiece from the staff of the Colwyn Bay Water Department, and a silver tea set, the gift of Mr. and Mrs. Parkin, of Rhos-on-Sea. Mr. and Mrs. Evans are to reside at Colwyn Bay.
