Two Women Drowned

Bolton on Dearne Tragedy Of Darkness

Two Bolton on Dearne women munitioners, upon leaving work on Friday night walked into the canal adjoining the factory.

Their bodies were recovered yesterday morning, and have been identified as Ella Howitt (28), of seven, New Street, wife of a soldier on active service, and Clary Beatrice Garbutt  (37) of 10 Angel St, wife of Bernard Garbutt

A month ago a Swinton woman employed at the same factory lost her life in identical circumstances
