 Speaker Held Up

Derailment of a goods train near Bolton-on-Dearne today, in the vicinity of the Wath-on- Dearne disaster, resulted in Hull Rotary Club speaker, Mr Harold Gibson, of the Central Office of_ Information, being delayed and unable to be present at the luncheon.

Members, instead, had an informal discussion. Mr Gibson was scheduled to speak on Western Union.

There was no loss of life or personal injury, but as a result of the accident, which happened at 9am, one of the lines was blocked and there was a delay of 30 minutes to passenger services. The line was cleared about I pm.
