W. Dickenson, Billy Batty and M Furniss are missing and relatives of other local men are as yet awaiting news.

Harry Vickers, of Queen Street, has suffered severely, having lost a leg. At present he is in France, but will shortly be transferred to hospital in England, according to the Congregational Chaplain attached to his regiment.

Private C Purcell, of Queen Street, who was slightly wounded, is home on 10 day’s leave.
