Boltonians Boxing Success

Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. T., Darby, of 7 The Green, Bolton are serving with the Forces. They are Trooper Norman R. Darby ( 28) and Gunner Douglas Darby (21).

Trooper Darby has been serving in the Army for 10 years and has been out East for the greater part of the last 6 years.

He attended Wath Victoria School. While in the Army, he has won many trophies for good markmanship.

His brother, Douglas, joined up a year ago. Previously he was employed by Dale, Brown and Co. at Swinton. He was educated at Bolton and before joining up played both football and cricket for local teams. He recently won the middle weight boxing championship in his regiment.
