Soldier – Evans, Thomas Osmond – In Iceland

March 1931

Mexborough & Swinton Times – Saturday 01 March 1941

Private Thomas Osmond Evans, son of Mrs. Evans and the late Mr. Osmond Evans, of 12, West Avenue, Bolton, in a letter from Iceland where he is stationed with other South Yorkshire boys says they are all quite well and happy, and getting good food and plenty of it. “And we are not without snow,” he says, “as the picture shows.”

Private Evans is the third from the left, and second from the right is Private W. Middleton, of Thurnscoe. All the others are South Yorkshire boys and wish to be remembered to friends in the old country.
