The Death Roll.

Sad Accident in the Canal at Wath. 

Bertha Grey, aged 17, daughter of Thomas Grey,  shunter, of Spring View, Bolton-on-Dearne, fell into  the Dearne and Dove Canal, near the Wath Brewery  on Saturday night, and was drowned.

It was very  foggy at the time.

The body was recovered in ten  minutes, but efforts at resuscitation were futile.
