Gaming At Swinton.

Sixteen Fines Imposed.

A raid at the Station Field, Swinton, on Sunday, Sept. 12th, by the police resulted in the appearance at Rotherham West Riding Police Court on Monday, of eleven Mexboro men, four Swinton men, and a Bolton-on-Dearne man, summoned for having gamed with coins.

Most of the defendants pleaded guilty, and the following fines were imposed:

Albert Uttley (29), 15s.; Ernest Jackson (27), 10s.; Win. H. Connelley (27), 15s.; Joseph Roughton (46), 10s., all of Swinton;

Hy. Hambleton (24). 10s.; Thomas Booth (46), 10s.; Hy. Groves (24), 15s.; Joseph Slater (26), 40s.; Ernest Skelton (26). 12s.; Harold Simmons (32) 12s.; Wm Kitching (25) 12s.; Eddie Squires (27), 15s.; Jack Myers (21), 15s.; Geo. Brammer (24), 10s., all of Mexboro’;

Wm Price (28), Bolton on Dearne, 10s.
