Collier Steals Kid Gloves

Ralph Cullingworth, Collier, Goldthorpe was charged with stealing two pairs of ladies kid gloves and a collarette, value 4s 6½d, the property of John William White , Draper, Bolton on Dearne, on Saturday night.

Mr F Baddiley defended.

Defendant bought two pairs of children’s socks at the shop, and after he had gone the articles name were Miss. He was pursued by the shop girl, also throw the collarette in a hedge.

Later PC Blenkinsop found the gloves near the same spot. When defendant was charged with the theft he said he knew nothing about it.

Defendant denied the theft of that he was followed by the shop girl.

Mr Baddiley objected to defendant being asked if he had been previously convicted of theft, but his conviction was put in, and he was committed to prison for 14 days.
