Barnsley Chronicle February 16, 1907
Bolton Town 3 Thurnscoe United 3
Played at Bolton. At the end of a very even first half Bolton were leading by one to none.
Restarting the game was fiercely contested. Thurnscoe equalised, but Bolton again took the lead from a freekick against the goalkeeper for carrying. Bolton added further to their score, and then had the misfortune to lose the services of Rothery, their centre forward, owing to an accident.
They seem to disorganised their attack. They failed to convert a penalty, and this was a good opening.
Thurnscoe were awarded a penalty, from which they scored, and just before the finish they put on another goal.
