Bolton on Dearne School Board
On Wednesday evening last the members of the Bolton on Dearne schoolboard Messrs P.T. Brannelly (chairman), Kirk (vice chairman), G Whitlam, Marsden, hunting turn and roads: Mr JC White (clerk of the Board), Mr Washington (headmaster), Mr S Dickinson (assistant master, and Mr JD Adams (attendance officer) sat down to an excellent dinner provided by G Awty, landlord of the Angel Inn.
After the cloth was removed, Mr Whitlam propose the health of Mr JC White and said that he had had a great deal of work to do in consequence of the building of two new schools owing to the development in the population.. The countries that Mr White had done his work well and hope that he would continue in that office for a number of years.
Mr White responded and thanked the members for their good wishes.
The health of the headmaster was pulled by Mr Brannelly and he responded by saying that he had always tried to do his duty to both the board and the children and hoped that he should be at Bolton for a long time to come.
Songs were rendered by Mr Washington and Mr Dickinson.
The health of the host and hostess was drunk with musical honours and a very enjoyable evening was spent.
