Mexborough and Swinton Times July 28, 1939

A party of girls from Bolton-on-Dearne Girls’ Modern School, who, in charge of the headmistress, Miss M. Garbutt, left last Saturday for a Continental tour.

They had a good crossing and on Sunday went to a service at Bruges Cathedral, and a trip on the canal in motor boats followed. On Monday they visited an art exhibition and saw pictures by famous Flemish painters.

On Tuesday the party went to Blankenburg and on Wednesday visited Ghent. Yesterday was spent touring Holland.
