36 years in the St John ambulance movement is the admirable record of Mr Philip Bradshaw, of 29 Dearne Road, Bolton.

He joined the movement in 1910 at was under the late Dr FJ Burman, lecturer, and Mr Youdan Cusworth, secretary, and joined the brigade’s Wath on Dearne division in October 1914. From there he went into the R.A.M.C.in June 1915 and served until July 31, 1919.

To date he has received the Brigade’s long service medal and bar for 20 years’ service and the long service gold medal and bars for 25 years’ service with the movement on the L.N.E.R.(GC section).

Owing to war restrictions, no medal tokens awards have been made for the last few years.

Mr Bradshaw, who has now completed 32 years’ service with the Wath division, is now Divisional Superintendent of Wath Division, and will this year complete 36 years with the railway section, having during that period assisted in instructing competition teams and class members.

Mr Bradshaw hopes to carry on for a number of years in this work.
