A Young Hero. Presentations to Boy at Bolton-On-Dearne.

Mr. George Probert, chairman the Bolton-on-Dearne Council, last night, at a meeting the Council, presented to Samuel Neal, the 15 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Neal, Furlong road Bolton-on-Dearne, the Royal Humane Society’s certilicate.

On 21 June, last year, Leonard Fowler, aged eight, Furlong road, Bolton, fell into the Brickyard Pit, at Bolton, and was in imminent danger of drowning.

Neal, fully clothed, dived into the water and brought the boy to safety.

At Bolton Council School, yesterday afternoon, Neal was presented with a silver watch the headmaster, Mr. Pownall, who with members of the teaching staff, subscribed for the gift.
