A Troublesome Customer.

Having been “scratched” from the Horse and Groom public house, Bolton-on-Dearne, Charles Mason, of Grimethorpe, entered that house on Saturday, May 18, and demanded drink. When refused, he made trouble, for which he was summoned.

At Doncaster on Tuesday be was fined 20s. for being disorderly and refusing to quit.

Edgar Stones, licensee, said he had had trouble with defendant, who entered the tap room and asked for a drink. He was refused twice, so he used disgusting language and came round the counter. Witness took hold of him and put him on the ‘ floor. Because defendant was a dangerous man witness thought the best thing to do was to send for a policeman. As they could not get one, defendant was put outside.

Defendant always chose a, busy time to enter the house, but this time things were quiet.
