A.R.P. Makes  Her Queen

Miss Jennie Dawson, aged seventeen, daughter of a retired miner, of Mexborough-road, Bolton – on – Dearne, South Yorks, is to assume a new role In  local A.R.P. measures.

She attended a dance promoted by the organisation on Saturday and was persuaded,  with forty other girls, to compete  for the title of A.R.P. Queen.  The Judges were Dr. and Mrs. Adamy, and much to her surprise Miss Dawson was chosen

Though naturally delighted with the honour,  she does not yet know what her regal duties  will be.

She only knows that she will attend all  local A.R.P. meetings and functions, and  shortly will be crowned and robed.  Jennie helps her mother at home and is the youngest five.
