Private Archer of 33 High St, Bolton on Dearne, died of wounds October 9.

He had been two years in the army.

Formerly was in the employ of the Urban Council as a carter and was a popular local cricketer.

His brother, Private George Edward law, has seen three years service in the Royal Engineers. He has been for five months in hospital in Halifax owing to shrapnel wounds. He is now out of hospital and it is not expected that he will be of further service in the trenches.
