A/C. John Gilbert Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Day, of 35, The Crescent, Bolton, joined the R.A.F. in May this year.

He is an old Bolton Council School boy. On leaving school he went to the Savage Club, London, as pageboy and telephone operator, and remained there until the outbreak of war when he came home and started work at Barnburgh Main where he was employed until immediately before joining the Forces.

From arriving home up to last May he was a Corporal in the Bolton Home Guard.
