Wedding – Matthews & Bourne

Miss Margaret Matthews, younger daughter of Mr. W. Matthews, 7, The Crescent, Bolton, was married at Bolton Parish Church last Thursday to Mr. Leonard Bourne, B.Met., only son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Bourne, 50, Barnsley Road, Goldthorpe.

A gown of ivory romaine cut on classical lines, with a veil of Brussels net and lace and coronet of orange blossom was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. She carried pink roses.  Misses Irene Matthews and Lilian Hale were bridesmaids.  Each wore a picture frock of pink and silver name, with Juliet caps and pink feathers and veiling and carried gladioli.

Best man was Mr. L G. Finch, B.Met., and groomsman Mr. K. Balajiva, B.Met., and Mr. H. Blackburn.

The bridegroom is on the staff of the Safety in Mines Research Board.  He is an old boy of Wath Grammar School and a graduate of Sheffield University.
