Mr. W. A. Baker (Dorking) and Miss I. Drewery (Bolton).

At Furlong Road Methodist Church. Bolton, on Saturday, Miss Iris Drewery, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Drewery, of 115. Furlong Road, was married to Mr. Walter Allen Baker, R.A.F., second son of Mr. J. F. Baker and the late Mrs. Baker, of Dorking, Surrey.

The service was choral.

Given away by her father the bride was attired in white brocaded satin with veil and wreath and carried pink roses and white carnations.

Bridesmaids were Misses Mary, Marjorie and Della Williams, Jean and Freda Drewery, Janette Smeaton with Tony Johnson as page. The former five were robed in ankle length dresses of blue taffeta with Air Force Blue boleros and Juliet caps, and the latter two wore R.A.F. uniform.

All had bouquets of white irises, and the elder bridesmaid carried a handbag, the other four wearing brooches, and the two juniors bangles and model plane, all gifts from the bridegroom.

Mr. John Yarrow was best man and Mr. Raymond Drewery groomsman.

The bride is a member of Furlong Road Methodist Choir and a Sunday school teacher. The choir’s present was a half tea service, and there was a fruit set from the staff and scholars of the Sunday School.
