Golden Wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Critchley, 13,Green Gate Close, Bolton, celebrated their golden wedding on Monday.
Both are natives of Lancashire, and there were married at St. Paul’s church, Skelmersdale.
They have lived 10 years in Bolton, having lived previously in Thurnscoe and Goldthorpe, where they were well known.
Mr. Critchley has worked at collieries nearly all his life and started work at Barnburgh Main in 1927, retiring nine years ago.
He has a reputation as a bowler, having taken part in Blackpool contests many times. He won the Westville competition in 1927 and 1937 and has held the Taylor and Dickinson’s cups.
Mr Critchley celebrates his 74th birthday in December, Mrs. Critchley her 73rd in September.
