Pulling a Collier’s Whiskers

On Saturday at the West Riding Police Court, Doncaster, Joseph Howarth, collier, Bolton-on-Dearne, was charged with assaulting Jno. Limb, collier, on the 11th inst.

lt was stated that parties were in a public-house, when defendant seized complainant’s whiskers and pulled them.

Defendant was ordered to pay 20s.

Wilful damage at Conisborough.

On Saturday at the West Hiding Police Court, Robert Cooper, labourer, Conisborough, was charged with committing wilful damage to underwood at Conisborough.

He was fined Is 9d. damages, and 14s. costs.

Arthur Toseland, labourer, Conisborough, was ordered to pay 17s.6. for a similar offence.

Felony Cases

On Saturday at Doncaster William Fletcher, labourer, Kilnhurst, was charged with stealing two cauliflowers at Mexborough, the property of John Minskip, greengrocer, on the 11th inst.

Fined 40s including the costs, or one month to prison.

John Gallagher, labourer, Mexborough, was charged with stealing 3s. from the person of John Adamson, on the 17th inst. Prisoner was committed to prison for one month
