Below are four generations photographed at 7, Hall Broome Gardens, Bolton-on Dearne, home of Mrs Joan Green (right) aged 21.

Mrs Green’s mother, Mrs Ethel Carline, of Highgate, is on the right, and 16-months-old Mary Patricia Green sits in the arms of her great-grandmother, Mrs Mary Flint (63), 82, Bolton Road, Highgate.

Mrs Carline’s husband’s father, Mr George Carline (91), lives at Goldthorpe. The family have lived in the Dearne district all their lives.
