Drunk and refusing to Quit at Bolton.
Richard Hartley, trammer, Bolton, was charged with having been drunk and refused to quit the Cross Daggers Inn, Bolton, when requested to do by the landlord, on January 23rd.
The landlord stated that the defendant visited the house and afterwards left, but subsequently he returned “fresh.” He refused to give him any drink, and ordered him out but he would not go, and Police – Constable Drury had to be sent for.
The landlord again ordered the defendant to leave, but he would not, and told the policeman he should do as he liked. The officer put him out but not until the man had scuffled with him.
The defendant had been previously convicted, and he was now fined 25s., Including costs.
