Barnsley Chronicle February 9, 1907
Bolton Town 3 South Kirkby 1
credit Bolton. South Kirkby were the 1st to score, but Bolton played up and A Law scored a brilliant goal. The home men again got through before the interval, owing to the weakness of Walt Wright, the Kirkby left back. Rothery gave Bolton their second goal.
Restarting, the game continue to be very fast. About 15 minutes from time to visit is defence appeared to be bottled up, and if it had not been for the fine backplate Cunningham, Bolton must have had a considerably to their score.
They did score once more before the finish through E Sargison, and ran out winners by three goals to South Kirkby one goal.
