Mr. and Mrs. Wood, of 71, Ingsfield Lane, have been officially notified that their son, Pte. Joseph Wood is seriously ill in the Middle East.

Pte. Wood joined the York and Lancaster’s five years ago. He is an old Bolton schoolboy and previous to joining up was employed at Manvers Main.

Mr. and Mrs. Wood have another son in the Middle East, Driver A. Wood in the R.A.
